Data Scientist / Python Engineer

BasisPointSquared on is the research and development arms of an international Fintech specialising Investment Portfolio Management. The company will be based in Sousse. BasisPointSquared is currently looking to hire a number of roles to strengthen its development capabilities.

As a Data Scientist, you should be highly analytical with a passion for analysis, math and statistics. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills are essential for interpreting data and offering solutions. This role offers the chance to be involved in the full development cycle—from design and data collection to the delivery of cutting-edge projects in modern investment management tools.

Roles and responsibilities

• Identify valuable data sources and automate collection processes.
• Undertake pre-processing of structured and unstructured data.
• Design, develop and implement investment portfolio management components. Integrating these newly developed components into the existing production platform.
• Suggest and implement improvements to all aspects of product development, staying ahead of industry trends..
• Collaborate on exploring and implementing cutting-edge front-end technologies and innovative designs.
• Engage with Design Patterns and Agile/Scrum methodologies, enhancing and adapting your skills as needed.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Data Scientist or Data Analyst
• Experience in data mining
• An experience in working with financial instruments would be a plus.
• Good expertise of Python and other data processing tools
• Analytical and problem-solving skills;
• Strong teamwork skills with the ability to collaborate with other developers and co-workers including distributed team members.
• Ability to organize time and prioritize tasks.
• Ability to work with remote team members.
• Ability to communicate in English (written and verbal)
• Mastering French is a plus
