Senior C# Developer

THE ROLE

• As a member of the Solutions Engineering team, the Solution Specialist will be responsible for working with our clients to develop customized software solutions on Linedata’s product platform to meet their specific business needs. 
• The Solution Specialist will be expected to acquire the knowledge of Linedata’s financial product suites; analyze the client’s business requirements; design, develop and implement customized software solutions for our clients.    
• We have both deployed as well as hosted clients. This role will require engaging with internal and external teams to support client projects. In that regard, effective and professional communication will be essential. This role requires optimal organizing and task prioritization capabilities.  Managing time to maximize personal productivity and deliver tasks within the targeted timeframes are key to be successful in this role. 
• This position requires work hours that overlap with U.S. Boston work shifts. It also requires some weekend and out-of-hours availability for client project work / Go-Live Support.

Responsibilities

• Analyse business requirements to determine the feasibility of software solutions within time and product constraints.
• Design, develop and modify software systems, using business analysis and acquired product knowledge.
• Enhance existing applications to add new features/functionalities and provide support for correcting errors.
• Upgrade existing custom applications to work with a newer version of the product. Ensure compatibility with new hardware and OS versions. Look to improve its performance.
• Develop and perform software system testing and validation procedures.
• Prepare Technical and Functional documentation.
• Consult with Product Engineering teams to validate proposed solutions and to obtain information on product limitations and capabilities, performance requirements and interfaces.

Requirements

• Undergraduate degree in computer science or a related discipline is required.
• 4+ years of experience developing software in a professional capacity.
• Hands-on experience (minimum 3 years) in programming in multi-tier applications in C#, .Net, and/or other Object-Oriented Programming languages.
• Experience with User Interface design, .Net client-side technologies such as WPF, or JavaScript framework like React JS.
• Experience (minimum 2 years) with developing Webservices, Windows Services, WCF Services, and other Web APIs.
• Experience (minimum 2 years) with SQL Server and proficiency in writing SQL scripts – stored procedures, functions triggers, etc.
• Experience with working through the entire development lifecycle of analysis, design, coding, testing, and implementation.
• Familiarity with common Agile practices, and experience in working with modern productivity tools such as Confluence, Jira, etc.
• Experience with source control (TFS, GitHub) and build process is highly desirable.
• Working knowledge of DevOps methodologies and associated tools such – PowerShell scripting, TeamCity, Jenkins is preferable.
• Knowledge of Cloud Technologies (AWS / Azure) is a plus.
