Python/Django Backend Engineer- Remote

In your role as Python/Django Backend Engineer, you’ll handle all product development for UBIAI products with the help of dev engineers. UBIAI is a text analytics tool for Natural Language Processing (NLP) that helps users create and deploy machine learning models for their specific applications.
We are looking for someone who can work together closely with the founders, product, and engineering to create cutting edge solutions at the bleeding edge of NLP. You will be one of a few, who will work on integrating the latest models with the UI and make updates to the backend & infrastructure.

UBIAI’s mission is to transform unstructured data into intelligence using AI. Our training data solution allow companies to quickly build NLP models and quickly iterate to achieve high performance models ready for deployment.
Our current customers range from healthcare, insurance, finance, education and beyond.

Responsibilities:

Optimize and maintain backend architecture of our existing application (https://ubiai.tools).
Build new backend from scratch for our new product offering.
Work with engineers to get solutions into use.
You will work on high-impact features of our ML Training and deployment pipeline and hence directly impact UBIAI offering.

3+ years of professional experience as a backend engineer.
You have experience with deploying python API and apps.
You have deployed web apps in python that communicate with a Postgres database with caching.
You have productionized ML models and have worked with end-to-end ML pipelines
You have worked with large-scale distributed systems that are deployed in the cloud.
You have the ability to deal with the fast pace and ambiguity of a startup. Things change and sometimes you need to develop expertise as you go.
Previous experience with AWS, Kubernetes, Docker & Django
You have prior working with ML frameworks like PyTorch, TensorFlow, FastAI & sci-kit
