Senior Database Administrator (DBA)

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Database Administrator (DBA) to lead our database management efforts. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of database technologies and best practices, along with a proven track record of successfully managing complex database environments.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the installation and configuration of database software, including MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server, and PostgreSQL.
• Develop and implement robust data security measures to safeguard sensitive information.
• Proactively optimize database performance through monitoring, tuning, and performance testing.
• Conduct thorough capacity planning to ensure scalability and performance of database systems.
• Establish and maintain comprehensive documentation for database configurations, procedures, and processes.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior members of the DBA team.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Database Administrator, with a focus on managing enterprise-level database environments.
• Extensive expertise in database installation, configuration, and administration across multiple platforms, including MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server, and PostgreSQL.
• In-depth knowledge of data security principles and best practices, with experience implementing security controls and protocols.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex database issues.
• Proven experience in capacity planning, performance optimization, and scalability planning.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide technical guidance.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certifications in relevant database technologies (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional, Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert).
• Experience with cloud-based database platforms (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database).
• Proficiency in database automation and orchestration tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet).
