CFO / Head Finance

Job Summary

Direct responsibility for BU Finance function. Support CEO in operational and strategic decision making through financial reporting, analysis and performance monitoring.  Facilitate structured BU business reviews. Actively support BU annual Operating Plan exercise per Corporate guidelines. Lead/support cross functional BU/Corporate initiatives.  Enforce financial discipline.  Exercise cost and budgetary control.  Safeguard BU assets. Strengthen internal controls.  Ensure compliance with Group policies and applicable laws.  Build a high performance Finance team.

Key responsibilities

• Support CEO in operational and strategic decision making. Drive day-to-day business performance through timely release of accurate financial results and forecasts, analysis and monitoring of key business performance metrics including margin control, brand/ customer profitability etc.
• Facilitate structured business reviews.
• Ensure cost and budgetary control over product costing.
• Lead/actively support cross functional cost saving/ optimisation, efficiency improvement, revenue/margin maximisation and other BU/Corporate initiatives.
• Enforce financial discipline and efficient working capital management. Ensure availability and optimum utilisation of bank facilities in co-ordination with Corporate Treasury. Negotiate with bankers for line of credit when required.
• Safeguard BU’s assets. Ensure strict credit control. Monitor capital expenditure expansion for the Unit. Ensure physical verification of inventories and adequate insurance cover. Correctly ascertain BU liabilities through continuous risk assessment.
• Continuously monitor foreign currency, interest and counter party risks. Help devise risk management strategies.
• Ensure all statutory compliance are met including Income Tax
• Ensure strict compliance with Group policies and processes, Accounting Manual and other finance Guidelines. Critically examine and help strengthen existing BU systems, workflows, procedures, policies and internal controls.
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws. Facilitate BU statutory and internal audits.
• Provide functional expertise and guidance to BU Finance team. Build-up a well motivated, high performance Finance team.

Qualifications & experience

• Professional qualification (CA/CPA/ACCA/ CIMA/ICWA or equivalent) with 10-15 years relevant experience of which at least 5 years as Head Finance of medium/large sized businesses (multi-product/multi-location).
• MBA with specialisation in Finance from a reputed Business School will be an added advantage.

Competencies

• Domain expert knowledge and relevant experience of financial accounting, business analysis, business planning, forecasting, costing, treasury and taxation.
• Business focus; exposure to business partnering and strategic decision making roles at senior level.
• Ability to add value to cross functional BU/Corporate endeavours.
• Hands-on exposure to SAP or other major ERP.
• Highly analytical, commercially oriented.
• Demonstrated ability to provide leadership to BU finance team.
