Job Description:

The Senior Maintenance Manager oversees the planning, execution, and continuous improvement of all maintenance activities across electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems. This role ensures optimal equipment reliability, minimizes downtime, manages maintenance teams, and implements strategies that support operational efficiency, safety, and cost-effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities: 

The position plays a key role within the organization by ensuring equipment reliability, assisting production teams, and contributing to overall quality and safety standards

• Develop and implement maintenance strategies, policies, and procedures for all production equipment.
• Lead, coach, and manage a team of maintenance technicians and engineers across electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical disciplines.
• Plan and monitor preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities to maximize equipment uptime.
• Analyze equipment performance data to identify trends, optimize maintenance schedules, and reduce breakdowns.
• Oversee troubleshooting, repair, and installation of complex machinery and systems.
• Manage maintenance budgets, spare parts inventory, and resource allocation efficiently.
• Collaborate with production, quality, and engineering teams to support operational goals and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives by identifying inefficiencies, implementing best practices, and adopting new technologies to enhance equipment reliability, productivity, and safety.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies.
• Drive adoption of new technologies and best practices to enhance reliability, efficiency, and safety.

Minimum Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum of 10–15 years of experience in maintenance management within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Strong knowledge of electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
• Proven experience managing maintenance teams and projects.
• Solid understanding of preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance strategies.
• Practical knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and Continuous Improvement methodologies
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and maintenance manuals.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities; fluent in French and English
• Commitment to safety and regulatory compliance.

Desired Characteristics: 

• Strong experience in Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives, with the ability to identify inefficiencies and implement practical solutions.
• Hands-on experience with automated and PLC-controlled equipment.
• Ability to mentor, develop, and inspire technical staff to improve team performance and knowledge.
• Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills, able to work effectively with production, quality, and engineering teams.
• Strong project management skills with a results-oriented mindset.
• Proactive, innovative, and adaptable in managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Fluency in French and English with strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Hands-on technical experience with specialized machinery (e.g., cutting machines, transfer systems, riveters? blower) is an asset.
• Commitment to fostering a culture of continuous improvement, operational excellence, and safety
