VACANCY DETAILS

Position:                          WELDER (SMAW & GTAW PROCESS)            

Department / Division:     MAINTENANCE / PROJECTS

Purpose:                          SKILLED WORKER

Duties:                              PERFORM WELDING JOBS

Main Responsibilities:     Fabricate and SMAW weld Carbon & stainless steel pipes and steel                                 structure from 1” to 36” (Wall thickness 1/16” to 1”)

Conformity to the qualified welding procedure

Follow basic HSE procedures (PPE & safe work awareness)

Location:     All VAOS sites within Libya either on project execution or maintenance activities.

Relationships: The post holder will be accountable to the Foreman / Supervisor and will have relationships with Project Co-workers.

Environment:  Workshop and outdoor work locations (coastal & desert).

COMPETENCE CRITERIA

Work Experience:            MINIMUM 3 YEARS / FAVORED AGE 20 – 35 YEARS

Skills / Qualifications:     TRADE CERTIFICATE / JOURNEYMAN CERTIFICATE

WPQR 6G SMAW MANDATORY

WPQR 6G SMAW & GTAW PREFERED 

                                         BASIC KNOWLEDGE OF APPLIED CODES & STANDARDS

                                         (SUCH AS ASME SECTION 9 AND / OR API 1104) PREFERED

BASIC ARITHMETIC KNOWLEDGE ( + / - / x / : / % )

SUFFICENT ENGLISH ON THE JOB (READ AND UNDERSTAND WORK ORDERS, WPS, FILLER DATA SHEETS, OPERATION MANUAL OF WELDING EQUIPMENT)
