Description de l'emploi

We're hiring someone straight out of university and giving them a production data pipeline to own in their first weeks. Your pipeline, running every morning, feeding the numbers our analysts and clients use to understand EU carbon and energy markets.

You'll work across the data that feeds our EU carbon market analysis: policy and regulatory sources scraped from the web, maritime emissions feeds from vessel tracking data, and the gas, power and industrial series behind our fundamental view on emissions and EUA prices. You build the data our analysts think with, and you sit close enough to the analysis to push back when the data won't support the question.

What you'll do

  • Build and own data pipelines end-to-end: ingestion → transformation → loading → monitoring
  • Work with real EU energy and carbon data: gas flows (ENTSOG), power generation, industrial production (Eurostat), verified emissions (EUTL), and gas and power markets
  • Build scrapers for policy and regulatory sources, and keep them alive when the sites change underneath you
  • Process maritime emissions data: vessel tracking feeds matched to EU shipping compliance records, at a scale where the joins are the hard part
  • Deploy your own work: Python → Docker → AWS Lambda → Terraform → GitHub Actions
  • Turn the analysts' questions into data they can actually use, and say so when the data won't support the question
  • Build the guards that catch bad data.
  • Turn the analysts' questions into data they can actually use, interpret what comes out, and say so when the data won't support the question

Our stack

Python (pandas), SQL/Postgres, Docker, AWS (Lambda, ECR, EventBridge), Terraform, GitHub Actions, pytest

What we're looking for

  • Python and SQL you can defend in review: a pandas transformation you'd stand behind, a query with a join and a window function written without reaching for Stack Overflow
  • You've built something end-to-end, thesis or side project or anything else, and can explain the trade-offs you made
  • Genuine curiosity about energy and carbon markets. This matters as much as the code.
  • Self-direction: remote plus real ownership means nobody checks your work hourly
  • Working English (our team, code and docs are all in English)

A plus

  • Interest in economics or environmental policy: carbon pricing, the EU ETS, the energy transition. You'll be surrounded by it.
  • Docker, any cloud exposure, or time-series data at scale
  • An energy, climate, economics or engineering background or willinngness to learn

Industry

  • Business Intelligence Platforms
