Matrixcel Business is expanding its software development team and is seeking a qualified Back-End Java Spring Boot Developer to contribute to the development of secure, scalable and reliable business applications.

This position is specifically focused on back-end development. The successful candidate will be responsible for server-side application development, API implementation, database integration, application security and back-end performance.

• Key Responsibilities:
  
  • Design, develop and maintain back-end applications using Java and Spring Boot.
  • Build, document and maintain secure RESTful APIs.
  • Develop server-side business logic and application services.
  • Integrate back-end systems with relational databases and external services.
  • Design and optimise database queries, structures and data-access layers.
  • Implement authentication, authorisation and application security controls.
  • Write clean, maintainable, testable and well-documented back-end code.
  • Identify and resolve application errors, performance issues and technical defects.
  • Participate in code reviews, technical planning and back-end architecture discussions.
  • Support application testing, deployment, maintenance and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with front-end developers while remaining responsible for back-end implementation and integration.

Required Technical Skills:

• Professional experience in Java back-end development.
• Good practical knowledge of Spring Boot and the Spring Framework.
• Experience developing and integrating RESTful APIs.
• Knowledge of Spring Data JPA and Hibernate.
• Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.
• Good understanding of object-oriented programming and software development principles.
• Familiarity with Maven or Gradle.
• Experience using Git and version-control workflows.
• Understanding of application testing, debugging and error handling.
• Knowledge of back-end application security and authentication mechanisms.

Experience with Spring Security, JWT, OAuth 2.0, Docker, microservices, CI/CD, Redis, Kafka or cloud technologies would be an advantage.

Candidate Profile

• Minimum one year of relevant professional experience in back-end software development; two or more years preferred.
• Degree, professional qualification or relevant training in Computer Science, Software Development, Software Engineering or a related field.
