About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Chief Accountant to lead our accounting function in Kinshasa. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing daily accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining proper financial controls, and supporting management with reliable financial information.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the accounting team and day-to-day accounting activities.
• Oversee general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash management.
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Ensure accurate and timely financial closing and reporting.
• Monitor company expenses, payments, reconciliations, and financial transactions.
• Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, tax regulations, and local statutory requirements.
• Coordinate with auditors, banks, tax authorities, and other external stakeholders.
• Establish and maintain effective internal controls and accounting procedures.
• Prepare financial analysis, budgets, forecasts, and management reports when required.
• Identify financial discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure proper documentation and filing of accounting and financial records.
• Provide management with financial insights and recommendations to support decision-making.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Proven experience in a Senior Accountant, Chief Accountant, Accounting Manager, or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal controls.
• Experience managing and supervising an accounting team.
• Good knowledge of taxation and statutory accounting requirements in the DRC is an advantage.
• Fluency in French and English is required.
• Strong analytical, numerical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• High level of accuracy, integrity, and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and effectively in a fast-paced, on-site environment.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP systems.
