Planning & Project Controls Lead

Objectives :

• Translate Execution Plan into Schedule and CBU/WBS, respectively during Tender/Execution phase
• Provide PMO with tracking/estimation reports of progress versus baseline
• Standardization across projects of : Project Controls Procedures / PMO KPIs
• Training related to Project Schedule and Controls procedures and tools

Activities : 

Sale/Tender phase :
• Project schedule creation during tender phase, liaising with Tender Manager(s) to assign resources and
assist with reviews
• Review Long lead critical items and highlight those during Tender preparation
• Ensure and integration of engineering, procurement and construction management plans and schedules
Execution phase :
Manage Planners to build Project WBS and Base Line Schedules for PMT execution.
- Validate Schedule's Key milestones and Logic relationships/constraints needed for critical path analysis.
- Validate alignment between Resource planning and Schedule.
Baseline Re-scheduling, when applicable to maintain schedule relevance
Assist project team in resolving disputes involving VO with client or suppliers
Governance:
PMO
Ensure the appropriate level of planning and scheduling functionality is applied to support project controls activities
through all phases.
- Critical path analysis, Schedule Variance analysis, S curves reporting
- Look ahead activity analysis
Standardization
Establish standard methods and format(s) to enable reporting to PMO/Mgt.
WBS standard granularity/taxonomy for cost controls versus Tender CBU
Supervise recruiting of new hire Planners and their training on OPF procedures

Prior Experience/Expertise Required

Experience :
• 15+ years Industry experience
• Prior work experience in EPC / Construction projects that involve:
Facility Engineering, Control of Subcontractors
• Prior work in Project Planning and Project Control Services
• Risk analysis/assessment/mitigation

Expertise :
• Baselining and S curve reporting
• Primavera
• Project Financing ERP : SAP (preferred)
